The List and database Council of the Direct Mktg Assn (DMA) honored three individuals with the annual Ron Davis Young List Professional of the Year Award on Aug 17, 2000 during the DMA's annual List Vision 2000 conference. Britt Jean of Princeton, NJ-based American List Counsel, Jennifer Honadel- Wilson of Farmindale, NY-based 21stCentury Marketing and John Ruzzano of Kenilworth, NJ-based Applied Information Group were cited by the council for five years or less of exemplary service in the list industry.

Mailers warn of possible list misuse

Article Abstract:

Wheeling, IL-based mailing list manager Names and Addresses Inc issued a warning to direct marketers in Aug 2000 to alert them of the alleged misuse of the PGA Tour Partners Club (PGA/TPC) mailing list. The statement was sent on behalf of PGA/TPC owner, Minneapolis, MN-based North American Membership Group Inc. Firms listed in the report as allegedly having used the list without the proper authorization include Irvine, CA-based Trend Precision Golf and its related companies.

Shine the Light, California's privacy law, which deals with privacy policies of marketers providing opt-out options to consumers is discussed. This bill is opposed by direct marketing association stating that it is unnecessary.
