1990-97 Toyota Land Cruiser

Article Abstract:

Steering was vague and over-assisted in the 1990 Toyota Land Cruiser model, but the 1991-1997 versions were a little less tipsy in corners because of a wider body stance. Cornering on fast curves or tight, low- speed turns produces a lot of body lean, however. Acceleration is passable and fuel economy is dismal. All-around passenger space is ample, cargo space is generous and seats are comfortable for long trips. Expensive and sold in modest numbers, these Land Cruisers continue to attract a modest but eager following.

1996-99 Toyota RAV4

Article Abstract:

The 1996-1999 Toyota RAV4 models deliver a softer, more compliant ride and more responsive steering compared to truck-based sport utility vehicles. They also feel stable and car-like when cornering swiftly, and robust when traveling on rough roads. Tire roar is always noticeable, and the wind rush increases sharply when vehicle speed rises. The engine also becomes boomy when worked hard. These RAV4 models are also found wanting in terms of performance.
