Analogue or digital?

Article Abstract:

The first consideration when buying a cellular telephone is whether to choose analogue or digital technology. Analogue phones are well-established in the market and the network covers some 98% of the population, however because of the high number of subscribers it may sometimes be difficult to get a line. Digital networks include Personal Communications Network and the Global System for Mobile Communications. They have a comprehensive coverage and provide better reception than analogue phones, with a high degree of security. However, calls using analogue networks are more expensive than digital.

Dial M for mobile: Thirteen years after the first cellular phone was made in the UK, mobiles are now the gateway to e-mail, fax and the Internet. They are also more accessible than ever

Article Abstract:

Cellular phones are more accessible now than ever, but it is easier to choose a handset than a network, as many networks appear to offer a range of excellent deals. For businesses seeking a fleet of mobile phones, customized quotes should be obtained from each network to compare the levels of service. Analogue networks are making way for digital which is a cost effective option for business. The two types of digital network are the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and the Personal Communications Network (PCN).
