Managing implementation of environmental programs: the case of erosion and sediment control

Article Abstract:

A case study of the implementation of erosion and sediment control programs in Indiana is undertaken to test the validity of the implementation guidelines established by Mazmanian and Sabatier. Results show that the framework is useful and its necessary conditions such as the clarity and consistency of directives and the effectiveness of its controls have been satisfied by the state authorities. However, the implementation has been beset by problems because of the failure to cope with other conditions such as adequate financial resources.

Buying a new car

Article Abstract:

It is that essential that people test drive any car that they are interested in buying and it is preferable to get a demonstration car for a couple of days. Discounts of about 5% on new cars are usually available if requested and buyers should tell the dealer they are looking for the best deal they can get. Cars which are being superceded by new models can be discounted further. Extras should not be accepted in place of a discount. Old cars will fetch a better price privately than through a dealer.
