The features, specifications and performance of twenty-six newly available compact cameras are presented. The new cameras are categorised as fixed focus, autofocus, autofocus dual focal, autofocus extended zoom, and autofocus zoom. The Canon Snappy LX, priced at 50 pounds sterling, is the best fixed focus camera. The 100 pounds sterling Konica Big Mini BM-302 is a good autofocus camera with single focal length, but has some very small control buttons. The Canon Sureshot Tele Max was recommended as the best autofocus dual focal length camera, priced at 100 pounds sterling. The Pentax Espio camera has the best autofocus zoom range and is very small. The Olympus Superzoom 110, priced at 260 pounds sterling, is recommended in the autofocus extended zoom category.
