Complaining to the NHS

Article Abstract:

Complaints in the year Apr 1991-92 at Chase Farm NHS Trust, Enfield, Middlesex, England, were investigated. An explanation of how to complain is included. Half of the 78 people surveyed had complained about care or treatment and others objected to staff attitudes, poor facilities and waiting times. Forty-one per cent were dissatisfied with the handling of their complaint. Most of them wanted improvements in services for other people. Chase Farm took more than a month to reply. Few replies gave evidence that action had been taken.
