Flying without the frills

Article Abstract:

Domestic flights within the UK are among the most expensive in the world but many travellers take advantage of the budget airlines offering scheduled air services. Such 'no-frills' airlines have no free on-board meals and drinks, have fewer staff and travellers have little leg room, but the prices they charge are much lower than those for standard business-class travel. Among the cut-price operators are easyJet, Ryanair and British Airways' subsidiary Go.
