Get personal

Article Abstract:

Personal telephone numbers offer advantages but costs are high. Personal numbers, as offered by BT and Redstone Network Services Ltd., are attached to the person or business rather than the location. This means that, even if an individual is abroad or out of an office, or if a business or individual relocates, they can still be reached on the same number. However, connection charges are high and some services charge the personal number holder for diversion charges to mobile phones and international numbers. Callers also pay an extra charge.

Survival of the fittest

Article Abstract:

Many companies are now using different telecommunications network operators for different telecommunications requirements. They may select a particular operator for local calls, for example, and then different operators for long-distance national calls and for international calls. Even small businesses can make savings if they obtain quotes from different operators. The UK has now become the most competitive telecommunications market in Europe.
