Money to burn?

Article Abstract:

Up to 30 pounds sterling can be saved by turning the thermostat down by a degree and thermostats on radiator valves will vary the heat in individual rooms and save money. Flame effect fires are very inefficient methods of heating. Insulation is essential if heat is not to be lost. Eight inches of loft insulation will save over 50 pounds per year on heating costs but householders should not insulate under the cold water tank or it will freeze. Draught-proofing doors and windows will save around 20 pounds annually while insulating cavity walls will save 100 pounds per year.
