Mortgage traps

Article Abstract:

The mortgage regulations that come into effect from end October 2004 means there will be rules regarding what lenders should disclose to customers when they take a mortgage and this will hopefully put an end to some of the unfair practices followed by lenders. Conditional insurance, changes in base rate and annual interest rates charged are among the many ways buyers are exploited.

PAYE income

Article Abstract:

The Pay As You Earn (PAYE) scheme, which applies mainly to income from a job, is also used for taxing most company and private pensions. In this scheme the Inland Revenue gives the employer a tax code that informs them about the amount of tax-free pay an employee is entitled to, every day and any amount above that is taxed.

Misleading information on food labels can prove life-threatening for people with serious allergies. Some tips on how one should remain safe from food allergies are illustrated and also new labeling regulations are implemented where allergenic ingredients must be labeled if they are used in any amount in pre-packed foods.
