Productivity tests

Photocopier suppliers often advertise copier speeds of 60 copies per minuute, however, this refers to 'cruising' speed, which does not account for the delays which can be caused by using document feeders, sorters, first copy time, and other copier features. A series of tests to assess the actual copier speeds revealed that overall the Panasonic FP7750 achieved the highest productivity rate in the 50-69 copies per minute (cpm) category; while the Ricoh FT7670 ranked tops in the 70-90 cpm sector.

Southern Business Group takeover

Article Abstract:

Alco Office Products (UK) has acquired photocopier supplier Southern Business Group for some 81 million pounds sterling. The acquisition makes Alco the largest player in the UK photocopier distribution market. Southern Business Group, with a 1994 profit of 7.2 million pounds sterling, has more than 13,000 photcopiers leased to businesses in London and Southeast England.
