Garage servicing continues to be a major problem for the UK's car owners, with garages being among the most complained-about businesses. An undercover investigation of 48 independent and franchised garages reveals that just 50% detected all the defects in cars presented for routine service. Of the 48 garages, 10 were particularly poor and included seven franchised dealers, while only four carried out routine maintenance appropriately.

Article Abstract:
A survey of UK automobile owners' experience of reliability of their vehicles. The most reliable vehicles were from Honda, Mazda, Proton and Toyota, and the least reliable from Vauxhall, Rover, Renault, Land Rover, Ford, Fiat and Citroen.
