Article Abstract:

Partnership sourcing is a philosophy that aims to manage the relationships between customers and suppliers to the mutual benefit of both. Typically, such relationships have been mainly adversarial, but the economic recession has caused many companies to redefine their approach and the role of the purchasing department has become more involved in managing relationships. Successful partnership sourcing can help both parties reduce costs, improve quality and improve customer service. Companies that have adopted partnership sourcing include ICI, Laing Homes, Tesco and Nissan.
