Take your temperature: Fridge-freezer and microwave thermometers help to keep your food safe

Article Abstract:

A selection of fridge, freezer amd microwave oven thermometers were tested for accuracy, responsiveness and ease of use. The Thermo-Scan was the most accurate fridge thermometer, and also the most responsive, and thermometers with dials were found to be the least accurate. The Brannan horizontal was the best freezer thermometer for accuracy. Microwave thermometers are not widely available and both the Brannan and Tala models had reasonable responsiveness and were easy to use.
