Televisions and TV/VCR combinations

Article Abstract:

There are a great deal of variables involved with purchasing televisions, VCR's and combination items. Traditional features such as size and picture quality are augmented with home theater, surround sound, remote controls and other features should be evaluated. Explanations of satellite TV, cable TV, projection TV and related television terms are included. Eighteen conventional TVs, five projections TVs, seven VCR-TV combination units, digital satellite systems, and remote controls are evaluated. Products range in price from $19 to $15,000 are evaluated.

Portable televisions

Article Abstract:

Eleven non-stereo 34 cm TV sets available in Australia are assessed for features, portability, standby costs, picture and sound quality and ease of use. Prices of the sets range from $298 to $469. The Sharp CX-34G3 ($359) receives the highest score, followed by the LG CA-14F80 ($329) and the Panasonic TC-14S15A ($399).

Ten top-selling 68-centimeter-sized large screen TVs were rated for picture, sound, and ease of use. Models by Sony, Philips, Samsung, and Panasonic, priced from $1,439 (Philips) to $1,675 (Panasonic, Sony) ranked highest.
