The $50,000 Dodge Viper was introduced in 1992, after four years of research and development. It was modeled after a 1960s sports car, the AC Shelby Cobra. It has an 8.0-liter V-10 engine, but lacks anti-lock brakes. The planning and construction of the sports car are described.
