Dip domain method applied to the Mesozoic Connecticut Valley rift basins

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine a new method of analyzing US East Coast Mesozoic basins. The study focuses on the Connecticut Valley rift basins. Findings show that the valley has domains related to broader tectonic development. Dip data measurements are integrated with more standard geologic constraints for analyzing dip domain patterns. Tilt deformation was composed of Early Jurassic basaltic flow and Jurassic alluvial formations.

Structural variety and tectonic evolution of strike-slip basins related to the Philippine fault system, northern Luzon, Philippines

Article Abstract:

The strike-slip basins associated with the Philippinefault in Northern Luzon exhibit various structures and their subsidence responds to several mechanisms. Moreover, they are the best recorders of the evolution of the Philippine fault and of stress regime variations. The structural setting is the result of an early Miocene collision event between the Benham Rise and the eastern margin of Luzon.

Contour mapping of relic structures in the Precambrian basement of the Reelfoot rift, North American midcontinent

Article Abstract:

Drill hole and seismic reflection data were employed in developing a contour map of Reelfoot rift basement surface. The contour map reveals major structural features such as a pair of asymmetric rift basins, two basin-bounding structural highs and an isolated domal platform. The minor features observed involve subtle linear highs that are oriented subparallel to the rift's trend.
