Structural evolution of the Makkovik Province, Labrador, Canada: tectonic processes during 200 Myr at a Paleoproterozoic active margin

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the 200 Myr record of Paleoproterozoic activity which has been occurring at the southern edge of the Archean Nain craton. The craton lies next to a juvenile domain.

Intracratonic, strike-slip partitioned transpression and the formation and exhumation of eclogite facies rocks: an example from the Musgrave Block, central Australia

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the central Australian mountain belts which were formed during the Neoproterozoic period. The intracratonic setting in which the Musgrave Block developed is discussed.

Thermal and structural evolution of the intracratonic Arltunga Nappe Complex, central Australia

Article Abstract:

Three specific tectonic units surrounded by regional faults and shear zones form the intracratonic Arltunga Nappe Complex in central Australia. The complex was formed from 400 to 300 Ma, during the Alice Springs Orogeny, but uplift probably started at around 430 Ma. Piggyback overlapping of a large crustal thickness was involved in the complex formation. Between 430 and 260 Ma, is cooling rate was very slow, less than 6 deg C/m.y..
