The great expectations of the railway

Article Abstract:

The UK government plans a flotation of Railtrack, which owns the UK railroad infrastructure. Railtrack is the biggest company of those created from the break-up and sell-off of British Rail. The government is giving away real estate with Railtrack, and this could be lucrative. There is also income from train operators and room to cut costs. There is concern that the managament has not had enough time to become established, but the shares may still be priced low enough to make them attractive to investors.
