Differentiation of allelic frequencies at quantitative trait loci affecting locally adaptive traits

Article Abstract:

A model that incorporates population differentiation of quantitatively inherited traits and shows its relationship to community stability and adaptation is presented. It has been observed that the differentiation of quantitative traits is greater than that of single neutral and electrophoretic loci. Likewise, local selection on the trait influences the covariance of the allelic frequencies of loci.

Angiosperm fleshy fruits and seed dispersers: a comparative analysis of adaptation and constraints in plant-animal interactions

Article Abstract:

Investigations on the characteristic traits of 910 angiosperm fleshy fruits reveal a 61% influence of phylogenetic effects down to the genus level on the total phenotypic variance. The tendency of these fruits to adapt to seed dispersers is low, due to reproductive structure development. Only the fruit diameter exhibits an evolutionary dependence with the seed disperser.
