Pleistocene strike-slip tectonics in the Lucanian Apennine (Southern Italy)

Article Abstract:

A structural study of Lucanian Apennines in Southern Italy reveals that the deformation of this area during middle-upper Pleistocene time was due to strike-slip faulting. The different segments of the strike-slip system and the varying geometric patterns show the development of strike-slip faults. The upper tectonic multilayered horizon is separated from lower horizon by a major decoupling surface. Internal deformation occurs within the crustal shear zone, leading to the segmentation of the strike-slip system.

Pleistocene changes in the central Apennine fault kinematics: A key to decipher active tectonics in central Italy

Article Abstract:

Quaternary tectonics are addressed with a focus on factors influencing the structural evolution for the active tectonic setting of an area in the central Apennines. The changing strain characteristics during the Pleistocene is highlighted, and the possible causes of the evolution are discussed, with an analysis of the implications for research on active tectonics.

Morphometry of late Pleistocene-Holocene faulting and volcanotectonic relationship in the southern Andes of Colombia

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the kinematics and geometry of late Quaternary faults and the volcanotectonic relationships in the southern Andes of Colombia are presented. The main structures in this region are the NE-SW Buesaco Fault and the NE-SW Aranda Fault.
