The 10th AMS Conference on Numerical Weather Prediction, Portland, Oregon, 18-22 July 1994

Article Abstract:

The American Meteorological Society's 10th Conference on Numerical Weather Prediction focused on developing methods to solve problems in numerical weather prediction. The conference, conducted from July 18-22, 1995 in Portland, OR, was held in conjunction with the Sixth Conference on Mesoscale Processes. The new methods are expected to help meteorologists increase their understanding on the effect of atmospheric greenhouse effect and develop new strategies to solve it.

First International Short-Range Numerical Weather Prediction Workshop on Nonhydrostatic Modeling, 11-13 March 1996, Offenbach, Germany

Article Abstract:

The First International Short-Range Numerical Weather Prediction Workshop on Nonhydrostatic Modeling was held in Offenbach, Germany on Mar. 11 to 13, 1997. The workshop is expected to be the first of a series of seminars. It focused on all aspects of atmospheric modeling and nonhydrostatic models including model development, application of models, dynamics and numerics and physical parameterizations. Local climate evaluation was also discussed by D. Jacobs.
