A Critique of the Transatlantic Consensus on Rising Income Inequality

Article Abstract:

Transatlantic Consensus is the name of a theory, i.e., that increased income inequality in the United States and high unemployment in Continental Europe are due to a shift of demand away from unskilled workers towards skilled workers. The author explains how this single cause has different effects on opposite sides of the Atlantic.
