An exploratory study of portfolio objectives and asset holdings

Article Abstract:

The relationship between asset holdings and portfolio objectives is examined using canonical correlation analysis. Asset holdings among a wide assortment of investment instruments depend on the relative value placed on multiple objectives and investor characteristics. Portfolio objectives, in turn, are based on the stage of family life cycle as well as wealth and attitude toward risk. The direct and indirect influence of investor characteristics are also explored.

Ownership structure, investment, and the corporate value; an empirical analysis

Article Abstract:

A relationship was established between ownership structure, corporate value and investment. Utilization of ordinary least squares regression shows that corporate value is indirectly affected by ownership structure. Such relationship exists since investment, which has a direct effect on corporate value, is greatly influence by ownership structure. On the other hand, it is shown that ownership structure, in turn, is not affected by corporate value.
