The Grenada action by the United States in the West Indies was complicated. At one level the United States stopped a Cuban presence. The OECS (Organization of Eastern Caribbean States) had called for intervention to restore democracy. The United States promises to bring back democratic institutions. A map shows the location of Granada in the Caribbean.
