Business cycles and FDI: Evidence from German sectoral data

Article Abstract:

Globalization has affected business cycle developments in OECD countries and has increased activities of firm across national borders, and whether these two development are linked is analyzed. The results indicated that the German outward foreign direct investment increased in response to positive cyclical developments abroad and in response to a real depreciation of the domestic currency.
