Catching Up: wages of black men

Article Abstract:

The trends of wages of African-American men relative to the wages of European- American men are discussed. The findings indicate that the wage gap has narrowed down measurably during the 1963-2001 period and most of the gain is accomplished in the lower parts of the wage distribution.

Immigrant earnings assimilation: estimates from longitudinal data

Article Abstract:

Longitudinal data are used to assess earnings for immigrants over time. Data show earning convergence between immigrants starting at lower and higher earnings, with immigrants at high earnings showing a decline.
