Causality tests for cross-country panels: a new look at FDI and economic growth in developing countires

Article Abstract:

Research indicates a heterogeneous relationship between domestic and foreign investment and economic growhth in developing countries, although results can be misleading. More open economies show a higher correlation of the two factors.

The need for reconstruction in economic development in industrial nations is discussed in detail. The large rates of productivity and economic growth in Europe and Japan in the 1950s are examples.
