The high-tech complex development in Russia and the way it will be subordinated to the global networks of high-tech transnational corporations is discussed. Opportunities to transform the high-tech complex into a leading driver of economic growth in Russia exist but they presuppose the reform of key mechanisms of economic activity that are the backbone of the current system.
