Congressional control or judicial independence: the determinants of U.S. Supreme Court labor-relations decisions, 1949-1988

Article Abstract:

A model of the decision making process of the Supreme Court labor relations cases was presented. The voting record of the Court was evaluated using data compiled by the Americans for Democratic Action, taking into consideration the Court's relations with prominent Congressional leaders and labor policy. Fare determination in airline hub-and-spoke networks

Article Abstract:

A study was done to analyze the relationship between airline hub-and-spoke networks and airfares. The study suggests that increased traffic volume on airline network spokes decreases airfares. Large networks have high traffic densities and low costs per passenger. Thus, rates are expected to be low in the market. Empirical research shows that network characteristics are vital in determining airfares.
