Converting resources from military to non-military uses

Article Abstract:

The potential impact of resource conversion from military to non-military use will be uneven for all military-related industries. The impact of reductions in US military spending will vary on the employment of workers, engineers and scientists, who will have to look for lower-paying, civilian jobs. Resource cuts concentrated on specific, specialized industries, increased global competition and the recession has increased the difficulties of federally-guided resource conversion.
