Does antitrust need to be modernized?

Article Abstract:

The definition of markets should be de-emphasized in horizontal merges and exclusionary practices of tying and bundling agreements. Antitrust laws should be adjusted to facilitate balance between innovation and hindering intellectual property. The impact of antitrust laws on market competition is analyzed.

The case for antitrust enforcement

Article Abstract:

Evidence of the necessity and success of antitrust enforcement provides examples of socially beneficial antitrust challenges by the federal antitrust agencies to price fixing and other forms of collusion. The benefits of antitrust enforcement to consumers and social welfare are discussed.

The confusion over the concept of barriers to entry to economists is discussed. The industrial structure and anti trust laws as barriers to entry are examined.
