Doing business in Morocco: problems foreign firms face

Article Abstract:

The US Embassy in Morocco's report on the business environment in Morocco analyzes the problems faced by foreign businesses and stresses that the Moroccan government is keen on making the place conducive to foreign businesses. Corruption, bureaucracy and contraband are among the significant problems and poor infrastructure and lack of a labor force with technical skills aggravate the situation. The Moroccan government is interested in attracting investments, which will create jobs, and so it is willing to co-operate with foreign companies.

Registration, licensing, representative offices and branches, currency, taxes and employment

Article Abstract:

Kazakhstan has in the past year established or changed many requirements for foreign organizations. It requires all legal entities to register with the Ministry of Justice; those registered before Mar 1, 1995, must re-register by Jan 1, 1996. Legal entities must also register various structural changes. General and special licensing, taxes, currency controls, and the status of representative offices are discussed. Foreign businesses may directly hire and employ Kazakh citizens, but are responsible for all taxes.
