Editors' introduction

Article Abstract:

The International Society for Bayesian Analysis held its first riverboat conference from Apr. 29 to May 4, 1993, where its members discussed the historical background of Bayesian analysis, the contributions of its founders, its applications in modeling, probability theory and other scientific applications. Bayesian analysis is primarily involved in the reporting and communication of probabilities and to the usage of the most efficient methods for computing such probabilities. Several of the papers presented at the conference elaborated on such topics.

Intellectual property in UK firms: creating intangible assets and distribution the benefits via wages and jobs

Article Abstract:

Research into the benefits of intellectual property licensing and registering techniques on firm performance and profitability are given. Frameworks for developing IP licensing and firm integration of such frameworks is outlined then results from the use of such frameworks is given to show the possible benefits.

Bayesian model selection with an uninformative prior

Article Abstract:

The authors use a re-specification of a triangular model and cointegration analysis parameter of interest to permit Bayesian comparison of cointegration models with ignorance priors. The method is applied to an interest rate term structure model as an illustration.
