Foreign direct investment, local content requirement, and profit taxation

Article Abstract:

A country's economic welfare is greatly affected by its government policies, such as taxation and investment restrictions, that are related to foreign direct investment (FDI). Government policies tend to exert a strong influence on employment when FDI is ineffective and scarce. Its negative effect on price also tends to be strong when FDI is sufficient and the product market is highly oligopolistic.

The effects of annuities, bequests, and aging in an overlapping generations model of endogenous growth

Article Abstract:

The impact of an actuarially just annuity market is examined in an overlapping generations model of endogenous growth. Actuarially just annuities can lessen savings by lowering the danger of inaccurate death predictions, and can also decrease unintentional bequests by combining a cohort's resources. Voluntary annuities, however, increase savings by increasing interest.
