Estimating the export and import demand for manufactured goods: The role of FDI

Article Abstract:

The report stated about the demand for exports and imports of manufactured goods for a panel containing the majority of EU countries as well as the United States and Japan. The results also pointed generally to a complementary relationship between FDI and trade (efficiency-seeking), which are favorable to the existence of long-run relationships linking the variables of the augmented model.

The effect of tariff reductions on firm size and firm turnover in Canadian manufacturing

Article Abstract:

The impact of recent tariff reductions on firm size and firm turnover in Canadian manufacturing industries, which is a positive and significant increase in the exit rate of firms, is examined. The recent tariff reductions and increased exposure to international trade results in the exit of inefficient firms and thereby increases productivity growth.

R&D, trade, and productivity growth in Korean manufacturing

Article Abstract:

The effects of both research and development (R&D) spillovers and trade patterns on productivity in Korean manufacturing industries are investigated. Export industries and open industries show an increased level of productivity.
