Evidence of pro-poor growth in Azerbaijan

Article Abstract:

The relationship between macroeconomic growth and reducing poverty in Azerbaijan is examined. Findings revealed that the role of economic growth in poverty reduction is minimal. The impact of sectoral status on poverty risk and the correlation between new jobs and economic growth are also analyzed.

The budget process in Caspian countries: the experience of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan

Article Abstract:

Transparency in the budget processes in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are studied, with special attention on how the parliaments' participation in the process, on government interaction, and public awareness. Findings reveal that major information gaps remain despite steps toward more transparency.
