Family Quarrels

Article Abstract:

The struggle is heating up between neutralists and Communists in the West German anti-nuclear movement. There is growing concern about Communist manipulation of the movement. Members of the Greens, a pro-environmental, anti-nuclear party, are speaking out against the Communists. The Greens have lost one of their most respected members and are in danger of losing their status as a 'parliamentary fraction' entitling them to public financial support and party rights in the Bundestag.

The End of the Affair?

Article Abstract:

The affair of West German General Gunter Kiessling, dismissed as a security risk, has come to an end. He has been rehabilitated. As a political compromise, the minister of defense who fired him, Manfred Worner, has also been retained.
