Growing winegrapes

Article Abstract:

Winegrape production, unlike commodity agriculture where high yields and low costs are the keys to profitability, relies more on consumer knowledge and product identification. Being inexpensive and interchangeable, the goal of commodity product producers, are the last things that winegrape producers want. Winegrape producers in the Sonoma County area of California are willing to sacrifice yield for quality in order to distinguish their specific winegrapes to their customers.
