If mathematics is informal, the perhaps we should accept that economics must be informal too

Article Abstract:

Discussions of formalism in economics and the use of mathematics in the discipline are characterized by confusions over the definitions of the words. Economics has reportedly become more methodological in the 20th century in several areas. These include increases in the use of optimizing models of behavior, and applications of probabilistist models and Neymann-Pearson hypothesis. Formalism in economics should be understood based on theoretical concepts to promote a better understanding among students and practitioners.

On the chronology of the general theory

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the evolution John Maynard Keynes' economic theories, from those expressed in the 'Treatise on Money' to those contained in the 'General Theory,' is presented. Based on research contained in notes prepared by a student of Keynes who attended his lectures during years 1932, 1933 and 1934, the concept of effective demand which is a foundation point of the 'General Theory' is mentioned for the first time during early part of 1933.

Why experiment in economics?

Article Abstract:

Economists are better equipped than psychologists in managing the results of laboratory experiments on economic theory. Although psychologists are fundamentally established with laboratory technique and learning theory, this does not make them superior to economists, who are more aware of the formal propositions of economic theory and of the foundations governing economic environments and institutions.
