Incentives and job redesign: the case of the personal selling function

Article Abstract:

A study investigated the impact of the level of incentives on jobs that have been redesigned from individual to team functions. Results indicate that job redesign and incentive levels are related in a complex manner. The analysis reinforced the call in managerial economics textbooks for a joint design in the different components of organizational structure, particularly the assignment of responsibilities, choice of performance measures and structure of compensation plans.

An economic analysis of the use of student evaluation: implications for universities

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the potential benefits of student evaluation, the consequences of over-emphasizing them and the optimal level of emphasis that should be placed on them. The result determine conditions under which student evaluations would result in an increase in teaching effort and student knowledge, and environments where it would result in professors manipulating grading schemes to obtain higher student ratings.
