Institutional transformation: supply or demand?

Article Abstract:

A recent conference dealing with 'Transformations in the Institutional Structure of Production' highlighted how developments in technology, knowledge and transaction costs can have an impact on these transformations. The issue of the role of external and internal restraints in coordinating complicated economic systems was also discussed.
