Interactions between unmarried fathers and their children: the role of paternity establishment and child-support policies

Article Abstract:

Research shows a positive paternity test not only makes it more likely that an unmarried father will pay child support, but also that they are more likely to be involved in the life of their child.

The effect of child-support policies on visitations and transfers

Article Abstract:

Research shows that fathers who have been granted visitation rights for their non-custodial child are more likely to send regular child support payments to the mother.

New estimates of the impact of child disability on maternal employment

Article Abstract:

The economic impacts of disability in a child are presented in this study. A child's disability is likely to curtail a mother's participation in the work force and reduce the family income. In single parent homes the impact of the severely disabled child is much greater.
