French President Francois Mitterand is meeting individually with European leaders in hopes of developing a solution to the budget problems of the European Economic Community (EEC) prior to the March summit in Brussels. He met first with Margaret Thatcher, British Prime Minister, who favors strict control of community spending and settlement of Britain's budget complaint before increasing the EEC's funds. Mitterrand has little time to accomplish much.

The big chip that Triology is developing may speed up the computer's performance. The wafer-scale chip eliminates many wires. It is the time the signals spend in the wires which slow down the computer. If Triology can develop this system, it could make tremendous profits from its technology.
