Joan Robinson and socialist planning in the years of high theory

Article Abstract:

An analysis of Joan Robinson's version of a socialist plan for Britain is discussed. Robinson was involved in the theory of imperfect competition and the Keynesian theory of unemployment. Conclusions show that most socialist economists used both of these theories as bases for intervention to maintain full employment.

Memorialising George L. S. Shackle: a centennial tribute

Article Abstract:

Mark Perlman, Professor of Economics Emeritus at the University of Pittsburgh, USA, feels that the late George L.S. Shackle was an economist who was exploring new territories instead of conforming to Keynesians or Hayekians. A tribute to the late G.L.S. Shackle on the occasion of his centenary is presented.
