Keynesian multipliers, direct crowding out, and the optimal provision of public goods

Article Abstract:

Public and private goods were used in a private utility to effectively study Keynesian multipliers in a macroeconomic model with monopolistic competition. Such method offers an opportunity to assess the impact of direct crowding out on the size of national income, profit and employment multpliers when real public spending is increased. A positive real national income multiplier is achieved whenever private consumption is valued more by consumers over public consumption.
