Kitchen furniture

Article Abstract:

The U.K. market for kitchen furniture is closely aligned with the health of the housing market, where activity has been slow since 1987-88. The kitchen furniture market has suffered accordingly. It is expected to reach 922.5 million pounds sterling in 1996 and to be worth 14% less in real terms than in 1991. The kitchen furniture market is highly fragmented, with eight large companies accounting for some 70% of sales, of which MFI's Hygena and Schreiber brands have a 36% share. It is forecast that the kitchen furniture market will reach 1.06 billion pounds sterling by 2000, at current prices.
