Marketing investment products

Article Abstract:

Many uncertainties affect the marketing of investment products and services in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The UAE are potential sources of investors in such products due to their high excess liquidity. Affiliation with institutions that have licenses to sell in the UAE is one way of avoiding the complications or costs of operating inside or outside the country's regulatory system. UAE federal law divides marketers of financial products into five main groups: commercial banks, investment banks, financial establishments, financial intermediaries and monetary intermediaries.

Shipowners face growing risk of arrest in U.A.E. waters

Article Abstract:

A new procedural code in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) provides for the arrest of ships as security for claims, even when UAE courts do not have jurisdiction under Article 122 of the UAE's Maritime Law. The new code, together with the UAE's increasing port and anchorage activity, makes the UAE a very suitable place for creditors to seek security for their claims.
