Monetary dynamics, exchange rates and parameter instability: an empirical investigation

Article Abstract:

Econometric techniques are used to investigate empirically the fundamental issue of whether a long-run equilibrium relationship exists between real money balances and their determinants in Singapore over the 1973:2-1993:3 period. The findings indicate the existence of a systematic long-run relationship among real money balances, real income, interest rate and exchange rate.
