Egypt's new 1997 investment guarantees and incentives law

Article Abstract:

Egypt introduced the Investment Guarantees and Incentives Law in an attempt to eliminate the vagueness of certain private investment policies and incorporate these provisions under a single structure. According to the legislation, illegible applicants may be granted with public land allocation, importing privileges, immunity from other related laws and others. Despite these features, the bill has done little for the development of entrepreneurs and investment companies in the country.
